It’s the time of year when we hit the beaches, mountains, and gym. We break out the shorts and swimsuits, go kayaking, hiking, running, biking, and bask in the warmth and sunlight as much as possible before fall and winter drive us back into our homes and layered clothing. If you want to look your best, lose weight, feel fit, and have clear, glowing, vibrant skin this summer, turn to fresh juices.
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are the perfect cellular cleanse to get deep down and make those cells gleam in the sunlight this summer. Juice is also an excellent way to get all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that our bodies crave. We just have to unlock them.
Plant cells have walls made of rigid polysaccharides that aren’t digestible. These cell walls lock in the nutrients that can make us beautiful, inside and out. Chewing may begin the process of breaking into these tiny vaults, but then the body must work very hard to get what the teeth miss. This process takes a large amount of energy and time as muscles move, mix, and churn food in an attempt to squeeze as much nutrition from the food as possible. Unfortunately, the indigestibility of plant cell walls limits the body’s potential intake of nutrients and the available energy of these foods.
Juicing unlocks the fibrous walls that resist digestion and releases all the nutrients sealed within. Juices are practically pre-digested food. This allows the body to use much less energy, time, and work to get the nutrients so they can be absorbed and put to use immediately. These fresh juices also aren’t cooked, which damages enzymes and can completely destroy many antioxidants, phytonutrients, and vitamins.
Give your digestive system a rest this summer while still supplying nutrient-dense food that sends antioxidants spiraling through your blood and organs. These antioxidants will mop up free radicals that can damage cells and contribute to disease and aging. They also help protect against sun damage, so you can enjoy your summer. This concentrated nutrition in liquid form also helps the body clean out the toxins and waste that accumulate in your liver, kidneys, and skin, providing a healthy glow.
Fresh juice is also a good way to slim down. It provides energy and nutrients in a sweet beverage that won’t overwhelm your body with empty calories, added sugars, or artificial stuff found in soda or processed juices. Fresh juices are fat free and encourage the body to burn fat stores, so you can shed a few pounds and look great.
Give yourself a health boost this summer and look into doing a juice cleanse or adding more fresh juices to your diet. Your body will thank you and it will show.
Jay Kordich, the Father of Juicing
Jay Kordich is an example of the powerful cleansing nature of fresh fruit and vegetable juices. In 1948, at the age of 25 while playing football for the University of Southern California, Jay was diagnosed with a serious illness and was told he may not have long to live.
After reviewing all the treatments available, he left California and traveled to New York City to see Dr. Max Gerson who was treating terminally ill patients with fresh raw juices and healthy cleansing diets. Jay became his patient and immediately began a regimen of large doses of raw carrot and apple juices. It wasn’t long before Jay’s health was restored and the direction of his life changed forever.
From a star athlete to surviving a life-threatening illness, all by the age of 26, Jay decided he wanted to spread the word about fresh juices and eating a healthier plant-centric diet. For the next 40 years Jay took his message to anyone who would listen, from county fairs to large department stores to seaside juicing shops. It became his passion to teach everyone within reach how to be healthy through the power of fresh juices.
Jay is now a healthy and vibrant 88 year old. He looks and acts like a man half that age. He is out to teach everyone the secrets to his long and vital life. He and his wife, Linda, share their experiences, insights, and transformational stories on television, through lectures, their website, and books, co-authoring powerful bestselling novels on juicing for health. Jay says, “Fruit and vegetable juices are the cleansers, energizers, builders, and regenerators of the human system. My mission is to motivate, teach, and inspire people on a global level to live a healthy life by consuming more fresh juices on a daily basis.”
Just about everyone loves an ice cold glass of freshly made lemonade. In the video below, Jay Kordich says if you haven’t made his famous lemonade, then you haven’t had real lemonade. No sugar needed, just a lemon and couple apples.
Lemons are powerful detoxifiers and one of the best alkalizing foods you can put in your body. They are also full of bioflavonoids, which provide antioxidants, are anti-inflammatory, combat cancer, protect against free radical damage, and strengthen weak blood vessels for tight, healthy, young skin. They are also rich in vitamin C, another powerful antioxidant as well as a strong immune system booster.
